WWE'S DIVAS DIVISION - OR SHALL WE JUST CALL IT TITANIC?

After everything I've said and advised WWE on how to build up the ailing Divas Division, WWE have gone the other way and decided to release Kelly Kelly. I know, Kelly wasn't a great wrestler and her interests were in acting and modelling but like the scarce headline scene in the males division, the WWE Divas Division is bare and lacking.

The reason there hasn't been any interest for years in the Divas Division is because WWE have failed to hire wrestler, instead favouring models and actresses. In other words, female wrestlers who don't care about the job at hand, but instead who use the WWE as a stepping stone to other things. Other things I may add, that hardly any of them will ever accomplish.

And if your ambition in life is to get your tits out for Playboy, then you need to take a long, hard, look at your life.

Not only are WWE content to fire Kelly, who, whether we like it or not was a big name in the Divas Division, the John Cena of the women if you will. WWE are happy to allow Beth Phoenix, it's best women's talent in years to walk out the door when her contract expires. By the time you read this Beth may have signed a new contract. The likelihood is, that WWE will allow Phoenix to depart WWE because it saves money.

I don't know if WWE seriously want the Divas Division to fold in spectacular style or they just want to free up the cash to hire more big tits and no talent. If WWE let Phoenix leave then it deserves everything it gets. Beth Phoenix has been a stalwart in WWE's Divas Division for years now and when she had an opponent who was just as good as she was, then Beth was unstoppable. If WWE have had hired actual wrestlers and been able to keep Karma on the books, then maybe with Phoenix heading the division, WWE could have made a success of it.

As it stands, with Beth on her way out and Kelly Kelly gone to pastures new, WWE are now thin on the ground for female talent.

It's farming system for youth development could hold the key. I happen to know that WWE have some really great talent being brought through the system as we speak. However if WWE insist on treating them like they treat all new talent then it renders it all a little pointless doesn't it?

I'm still adamant that Paige could be the answer to WWE's problem, if they can get head out of their arse and do something with the girl. She's pretty, can wrestle and will be a pin up and dare I say it, wet dream material for every man and growing boy alike. Apart from Paige, WWE are going to have to look elsewhere for its female talent now.

One solution could be hiring back Mickie James when her TNA contract runs out but they could be waiting a while. Another is stop wasting time on the three hour Raw each week and start to build some stars. I would hate to see WWE re-hire Trish Stratus because they can't be bothered to do the job themselves. I fear at this rate WWE will be calling on Melina again - a woman who was so big headed an unpopular in the locker room WWE had to transfer her to Raw because she annoyed and upset so many people in the back.

I do question WWE's method though. Firing a semi popular diva when you need all the faces you can muster. Layla, Eve, Kaitlyn all those names will never set the division on fire ever. So why fire Kelly and allow Phoenix to steadily make her way out of the door?

Like the title suggests, its no longer WWE's Divas Division, it's beginning to resemble to titanic. Who wants to stay in an ailing division? Who wants to stay somewhere they can't get exposure because there aren't enough females to lend a hand. If WWE aren't careful then its female talent could start jumping before they're pushed. I doubt when it starts to sink, any of the talent on the roster will want to go down with their ship.

Onwards and upwards...
